Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Theater Costume

Worn by Clementine at the theater. Consisting of a black velvet dress, purple choker, fishnet tights, brown shoes, and brown leather jacket (which Clementine also wears at the end of the film).  The theater scene was cut from the final version of the film due to time constraints, but can be viewed in the bonus features section on the special edition DVD. Kate also wore this costume for several of the publicity shots, and can be seen in the DVD booklet of the special edition.  The jacket is one of a kind.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Cowgirl Costume

Worn by Clementine during the flashback scene of Joel's childhood. Consisting of a blue dress with matching belt, white long sleeve shirt, green stockings, brown shoes, and pink cowboy hat. This can be seen when Joel remembers being a child, and Clementine tries to pull him away from the kids who are picking on him.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Skeleton Costume

This is the skeleton costume worn by Clementine, who poses in this bare bones costume (pun intended) while Joel paints her at his apartment. The costume was custom made for the film, hand painted on the fabric, and one of a kind.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Bookstore Costume

Here is the costume worn by Clementine while working at Barne's and Noble. The costume consists of a pink/orange shirt, green paisley skirt, and pair of tights (not pictured). The outfit can be seen at the beginning of the film when Joel goes into see Clementine, and she acts as though she's never met him. The costume can also be seen in the special features section of the DVD. This shirt was also seen in an episode of the sci-fi television series Firefly prior to Eternal Sunshine.

Clementine Krucynski's (Kate Winslet) Tye Dye Costume

Here is the costume worn by Clementine when she and Joel run from the "memory eraser" guys. The costume consists of a blue tye-dye shirt, red skirt, black sparkly stockings, purple scarf, and black striped hand warmers (not pictured).

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Charles River Costume

Here is the black cat hoody, orange knit hat, black sparkly gloves, and red woolen socks worn by Clementine on the Charles River. This is a great scene where Joel and Clementine run on the ice to get away from the "memory eraser guys". Included are a pair of plaid pajama bottoms to worn by Clementine in various other scenes, acting as a filler for the red parachute pants. Below are a few photos of Clementine in Joel's apartment wearing the pajama bottoms.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Purple Flower Boots

Here are the purple boots worn by Clementine in the market scene where she and Joel discuss having a baby. They never pan down to show the boots in the film, but I had to obtain these as they are just too cool! These one of a kind boots also came with a pair of rainbow colored socks (not shown).

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Pink Scarf

This is the pink knobby scarf Clementine takes with her when she leaves Joel's apartment after they have a fight about her staying out late. The scarf can be seen as she walks down the sidewalk and Joel follows her in his car.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Potato People

The potato people seen on Clementine's dresser in her apartment. Consisting of nine different characters, including a nurse, stipper, cowgirl, and other crazy characters. They are made out of real potatoes, which have dried out and shrunk over the years, but are in overall good condition.

Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet) Phone and Answering Machine

A blue phone and red answering machine used by Clementine when she goes home to check her messages before leaving for Joel's. The phone is also used by "Paatriiick...Baby Boy", when he calls Stan to tell him he's going to stay with "the old lady". The phone and answering machine still have all the cords and is fully functional. This also comes with two continuity Polaroids showing the items on set. A nice piece!

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Dresser Photo

A framed photo that was on Clementine's dresser. The photo looks as though it was taken at a Halloween or Mardi Gras party. This can be seen when Clementine plays her messages towards the end of the film before she leaves for Joel's apartment. I don't collect set dressing (background props), but this was free, so what the heck!

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Bedroom Phone

Here is the phone seen in Clementine's bedroom once she returns home after being rejected by Joel. This see through phone is fully functional although it does not light up anymore.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Cereal Bowl

This is the beige cereal bowl used by Clementine in the flashback scenes as Joel rides home from the beach with Rob and Carrie. The cereal bowl can also be seen in Joel's apartment as they sit on the couch together and it starts to rain. The bowl still has residue in it from use on set (yummy!). Comes with a continuity Polaroid showing the bowl on set.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Beer Bottle

This is the green beer bottle used by Clementine when she and Joel are eating at the Chinese restaurant. Comes with a continuity Polaroid of the bottle on set.

Clementine Kruczynski's (Kate Winslet) Mail

Here we have two pieces of Clementine's mail. The mail can be seen as she picks it up on her way out the the apartment to get into Joel's car.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Pajamas

Here are the main pajamas worn by Joel Barish throughout the film. Joel puts these pajamas on when he gets ready to have his memory erased, and wears them through the duration of the film when he's in his apartment. The pajamas are green in color with white piping.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Mail

Here we have three pieces of mail belonging to Joel. The mail can be seen as Joel is gathering up everything that reminds him of Clementine to take to the Lacuna office.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Leopard Throw

This is the leapord throw from Joel's apartment. It can be seen several times throughout the film including when Clementine comes home late and they argue, on the bed as the crawl around underneath, and on the couch when it starts to rain in his apartment. This is my favorite prop from the film.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Prescription

Here the prescription Joel picks up from the local pharmacy, which he takes to knock him out for the "memory erasing" procedure. The prescription bag has all the directions for taking the medication, including the details of the medication itself. Dr. Mierzwiak's name is also on the label as the prescribing doctor.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Alarm Clock

Here is the alrm clock seen in Joel's bedroom on his night stand. The alarm clock is made of metal and is still completely functional.

Joel Barish's (Jim Carrey) Chess Pieces

Here are four chess pieces belonging to Joel that were displayed on the book shelf in his apartment. The chess pieces are oversized and consist of a rook, bishop, good queen, and bad queen.

Rob Eakin's (David Cross) House Costume

The costume worn by Rob when Joel learns that Clementine had him erased from her memory. This costume consists of a loud shirt, brown cordaroy pants, brown moccosins, and a peace sign necklace. A nice costume from a key scene in the film.

Rob Eakin's (David Cross) Beach Costume

The costume worn by Rob at the beach in Montauk. Consisting of a red shirt, jeans, brown corduroy jacket, brown gloves, brown scarf, blue hat, and a pair of brown suede shoes.

Carrie Eakin's (Jane Adams) House Costume

Here we have Carrie's costume from when Joel learns Clementine had him erased from her memory. Consisting of a flower print shirt, blue jeans, brown watch, and a long white sweater. Another great costume from one of the key scenes.

Carrie Eakin's (Jane Adams) Beach Costume

This is Carrie's costume from the Montauk beach scene. This costume consists of a black coat, white long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, burgundy scarf, and a black bag. A very funny scene as Rob gives her the cooler and she falls over.

Dr. Howard Mierzwiak's (Tom Wilkinson) Lacuna Costume

Here is the main costume worn by Dr. Howard Mierzwiak during the scenes at the Lacuna office. Consisting of a checkered shirt, blue tie, white lab coat, brown pants, brown belt, black socks, and a pair of brown shoes. A great complete costume!

Dr. Howard Mierzwiak's (Tom Wilkinson) Stethoscope

This is the stethoscope used by Dr. Meirzwaik in various scenes at the Lacuna office, in particular when Joel has his physical before they start erasing his memories later that night. The stethoscope is also very prominent in the Lacuna commercial that Dr. Mierzwiak stars in, where he promotes the business. The commercial is a very creative, fantastic extra that can be seen on the DVD.

Mary Svevo's (Kirsten Dunst) Bracelet

This is the bracelet worn by Mary throughout numerous scenes of the film. Mary wears this bracelet from when she arrives at Joel's apartment until the very end of the film. The bracelet has several great close up shots, and appears to be a comfort piece to Mary, as she plays with it when she's around Dr. Mierzwiak, whom she has a big crush on.

Theater Playbill

Here we have a trio of theater playbills seen at various times throughout the film. When Patrick goes through Clementine's bag you can see the playbill among other papers and photos. The playbill is also one of the items Dr. Meirzwiak holds up when deleting items from Joel's memory at the Lacuna office. If you watch the deleted scenes you can also see the playbills when Joel and Clementine are at the theater.

Chris Norr Hero Lacuna Card

Here is the Lacuna card statting Chris Norr has had Angela Bellisio erased from his memory. This card can been seen when Joel goes to the Lacuna office and is being printed up by Mary. This is a great piece as the Lacuna cards play a very important role in the film, and are the most impotant props in my opinion. Chris Norr is the actual name of one of the camera operators on the fim. Sorry for the shadow in the photo.

Continuity Error: Notice they put the word "his" instead of him. They only show the first half of the card in the film, and perhaps this is why?

Test Lacuna Cards

Here we have several of the Lacuna cards that were used for testing to see how they would print out. Some of the cards are incomplete, while others were not centered correctly on the card stock. A couple even have doodles on them. Most of the test cards were for the hero card stating Clementine had Joel erased from her memory.

Production Used Script

This is a production used script obtained directly from the special effects artist on the film, who created all of the brain scans for Joel. This is the blue script, with several revised yellow pages mixed in. A great item as there is a lot of dialog that never made it into the final version of the film, including some very interesting and extended scenes. One notable thing I will give away is that Clementine worked at Border's instead of Barnes and Noble in the early script. The script actually ties together a lot of scenes you don't see in the film. The script is dated 12/17/2002.

Call Sheets

Here are several call sheets used during the production of the film with various dates. The call sheets have the full schedule for each day, including what scenes are being filmed, transportation details, and even what's being served for lunch. The funny thing is Kate and Jim have alias names on the call sheets, so no one would know who was really filming if lost. One of the call sheets is for the Eternal Sunshine party Kate and Jim were throwing for the cast and crew at the end of filming.

Continuity Polaroids

Here we have several Continuity Polaroid's that were taken on the set of the film. Many of the Polaroids are of the props you see on this website.
